Anney Tripp

Anney
Executive Director

Hello! My name is Anney Tripp, and I am the Executive Director here at Tenney Preschool and Childcare. I hold an AA in Early Childhood Education, and am a member of NAEYC, WECA, and WCCAA, bringing over 21 years of childcare experience to our program. Throughout that time, I have worked with children across a range of settings such as teaching in multiple 5-Star accredited programs, piloting an outdoor school age forest program, working with children to build and maintain school gardens, Montessori preschool, and owning a nature and play-based family childcare program.

Community building is foundational for me as a founder and facilitator of Viroqua Area Pride, former entertainment coordinator for La Crosse Pride, and volunteering for several years at a local grassroots community radio station.

Grounded in a whole-child philosophy, my approach to childcare emphasizes curiosity-driven observation and empathetic support, allowing me to understand and nurture each child’s full developmental journey. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner and our Maine Coon kitty, exploring the arts, playing board games and RPGs with my friends, and being in nature. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school!

Hi, I’m Ms. Noa! I joined the Tenney team in May of 2024 & have been working with children for over 8 years, earning my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2023 from Madison College.

My passion lies in nurturing curious, creative minds, especially those between the ages of 2 and 9—and I’m currently planning to return to school to pursue a dual certification/Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education.

My teaching style is inspired by nature, art, and the unique interests of each child. Whether we’re exploring the outdoors, diving into a painting project, or building an activity around a child’s favorite story or toy, I love creating hands-on experiences that spark joy and learning. Outside the classroom, I live with my wonderful fiancée Autumn, our two lovable dogs (Dexter and Sophie), and our mischievous cat Juniper. A lifelong Madison local, I enjoy the vibrant community here and take every chance I get to camp, hike, or simply soak up the Wisconsin sunshine. I’m so excited to grow and learn alongside your little ones!

Howdy! I’m Amber and I have been working with children in a variety of settings for most of my adult life. These settings include teaching swimming lessons, lifeguarding, tutoring ASL for middle school aged children, and working with children ages 2-9 here at Tenney for nearly 4 years. I have a background in ASL, hold a Lead Teaching Credential, and have a learning background in sociology. I love hands on learning, play-based curriculum, exploring the natural world, and supporting children’s interests.

When I’m not teaching, I play roller derby, work on my Mazda Miata, trail skate, go to concerts, and take good care of my wonderful cat-son, Artie.

Hi I’m Clare. I’m a certified Lead Teacher and high school Dance Coach. I have experience working in Special Education and have been working with children for nearly 8.5 years in many capacities. I enjoy a play-based curriculum with an emphasis on physical expression and the arts. I prioritize children’s full range of emotions and model empathy in my teaching.

Outside of the classroom I have an eight month old son, spend the majority of my time off traveling, and take a lot of pride in my lively garden.

Michelle

Hello! My name is Michelle, a dual language Preschool Teacher with over 5 years’ experience in the classroom working with children 12 weeks – 9 years old. I have a technical diploma in Early Childhood Education from Madison College. I’ve worked in a Spanish immersion preschool, was a Pre-K art teacher, and have enjoyed lead teaching multiple age groups. One of my favorite parts of my role as a Preschool Teacher is getting to know the children and growing connections with their families.

Outside of teaching I enjoy caring for my plants and cats, spending quality time with my friends, and taking spontaneous road trips.

Payton

Hello, my name is Payton, and I teach children from birth to school age. I hold a Lead Teaching Credential, have a background in psychology, including child development, and have been working with children for most of my life. I value building strong relationships with each child, getting to know their unique personality and what teaching strategies work best for them.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors, singing, spending time with my friends, and relaxing with quiet activities. I’m a proud hobby hopper and find joy in trying new things.
